Nicki Minaj Reacts To BET Award Nominations “Waits For Trina’s Name To Appear”

The entertainment world has been completely shaken by the announcement of BET’s 2011 award nominations.

The major issue–Trina not being included in the BEST FEMALE RAP category while random chicks like Cymphonique and Lola Monroe were! Celebs have voiced their opinion and some have even argued about it (Keyshia Cole and Lil’ Kim). While Nicki Minaj is a shoe-in for the award she tweeted:

“Looks @ nominations. Didn’t know it was April Fools… *waits for Trina’s name to appear before I take this seriously*”

Chris Brown Went From Being Banned To Leading in BET Nods With Six

He looked to be on career life support after his domestic violence incident with then-girlfriend Rihanna, but Chris Brown has rebounded nicely.

The “Beautiful People” singer is up for a total of six trophies at the 2011 BET Awards, scheduled to take place on June 26th in Los Angeles.

Chris will compete for Best Male R&B Artist, Viewers Choice, and Video of the Year, Best Actor, and two nods in the Best Collaboration category.

Additionally, Lil Wayne nabbed five nominations, and Kanye West, Drake, and Rihanna are all up for four awards.

Trina x Twitter Reacts to BET Awards’ Female Rap Artist Nod List

Yesterday, Tuesday May 17th, BET announced the nominees for their upcoming awards show on June 24th in Los Angeles via Twitter. Moments after the tweet of the “Best Hip Hop Female” nominees, Rap Recording artist Trina took to Twitter to express her thoughts.

Here are the 2011 BET Awards “Best Hip Hop Female” Nominees:

• Nicki Minaj

• Diamond

• Lola Monroe

• Cymphonique Miller

In response to the announcing of the list, this is what Trina had to say:

We are all entitled to our opinion, but do you agree with Trina’s tweet? I must say, when I received the list, I was quite surprised to say the least.

Definitely not downing any of the ladies nominated, but there are alot of talented and hard working female emcees out there. Such as Jean Gray, Shawnna, Gangsta Boo, just to name a few.

Atlanta based female rapper, Diamond even responds to Trina’s tweet by tweeting:

“Shout out to my big sis @TRINArockstarr she has always been my idol! I don’t knw wut happen wit the nominations.. But she raised all of US!” – @DiamondATL

Grammy Nominations: Eminem Takes The Lead in Nods!

Eminem‘s Recovery continues to go quite well.

The rap wizard was rewarded for his efforts with a leading 10 nominations for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Best Rap Album, and Record and Song of the Year for the barn burner, “Love the Way You Lie,” featuring Rihanna.

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars is on cloud nine, Lady Gaga made the most out of only eight songs, Katy Perry‘s Teenage Dream is starting to come true, and Cee Lo Green neither has to f–k nor forget Grammy night.

Facing off against the resurgent Marshall Mathers for the 2011 Grammys’ top honor, Album of the Year, are Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster, Lady Antebellum‘s Need You Now and, in a welcome dose of indie recognition, the Arcade Fire‘s The Suburbs, the third album from the Montreal-based group and its first to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Lady Gaga didn’t just wind up with her second straight Album of the Year nod for what sounded like a deluxe rerelease of last year’s The Fame, either. She ended up with six nominations, tying Jay-Z and Lady Antebellum for third in the field.

And while “Just the Way You Are” singer Bruno Mars shared a Song of the Year nod for cowriting Cee Lo Green‘s too-blue-for-radio “F–k/Forget You!” and Record of the Year with B.O.B. for “Nothin’ on You,” his collaborations served him well. Mars trailed only Eminem in notching seven nominations.

Speaking of which, “Love the Way You Lie,” “F–k/Forget You!” and “Nothin’ on You” are up against Jay-Z and Alicia Keys‘ “Empire State of Mind” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” for Record of the Year.

Top 40 radio faves “Love the Way You Lie,” “Need You Now” and “F–ck/Forget You!” are joined in the Song of the Year category by Miranda Lambert‘s “The House That Built Me” and—score one for beard folk!—Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs‘ “Beg, Steal or Borrow.”

Don’t worry, just like every other award-giving body this year, the Academy didn’t forget Justin Bieber.

The youngster is up for Best New Artist, along with fellow Canuck Drake, British folk-rock duo Mumford & Sons, upstart British indie rockers Florence and the Machine and Oregon-bred jazz artist Esperanza Spalding.

And no, last year’s top album winner Taylor Swift didn’t go from hero to zero. Because the so-called 2011 Grammys honor work done between Oct. 1, 2009, and Aug. 31, 2010, Speak Now is eligible for the 2012 Grammys.

Makes so much sense, doesn’t it?
